Aircraft, Bears, and Science

The Airforce Armament Museum is awesome (and free). They have around 30 aircraft scattered around outside that you can look at up close and a ton of information and memorabilia inside.

The kids discovered Build-a-Bear while in a mall in San Antonio right before Christmas so I told them that they could choose to spend their own money on one after Christmas. To their great delight there is a store right here in Destin. I really tried to persuade them to save their money (I don’t particularly like stuffed animals and I definitely don’t want more stuff to drag around on this trip) but I was unsuccessful and they are delighted.

The Emerald Coast Science Center was a great little place we visited (for free with our ASTC pass). It’s a children’s science museum but they also have quite a few small animals to look at like Sugar Gliders, which we recently learned about and were so excited to see in person!

This was a rad robotic arm you could control with a joystick.

Taming the snake. (The outdoor area in this museum is wonderful.)
