We had the opportunity to volunteer for an organization that packages meals for the hungry around the world. We got our hairnets on and our training done and then got to work together packaging food for a few minutes before the power went out and the tornado sirens came on.
We spent the next half hour waiting for the okay to go back to work, but ended up being sent home. (Thankfully there were no tornadoes in our area.) We got to go back the next day though and finish what we had started. It was a nice experience, and was certainly memorable.
We stopped by the St. Louis Temple one afternoon.
This little museum was just a few blocks away from our Airbnb in the historic Carondelet Neighborhood. The museum is in the building where the first publicly funded kindergarten was started by Susan Blow in the 1870s. It was full of fun artifacts from St. Louis's early days.
