We got to feed Doritos to the seagulls. It was sort of scary!
We saw several pods like this. It was awesome. (And the color of that water was so dreamy.)
Mabel riding in style.
Gulls and dolphins in the same shot!
When it got too cold we went inside for a bit.
We spent an afternoon at Eden Gardens State Park. It was beautiful. There are a ton of Camellias planted all over the place. The kids liked collecting the different colored petals that had fallen on the ground. There is a beautiful restored 1897 mansion on the property we were able to tour for $2. The woman who restored it didn’t get to live in it much but she filled it with gorgeous furnishings that are in impeccable condition. This Live Oak tree you see is gigantic. Apparently this is a popular place for weddings.
While in Destin we (me and the kids) experienced our first ever tornado watch! There were some really bad storms just northwest of Destin a few times while we were there but we were thankfully spared from the worst.
I taught the kids how to leg wrestling. This was something I did with my siblings growing up and I have lots of fond memories of this. I was the smallest, so of course never won, but it was fun anyway.
