Sweetwater Creek State Park

Just a short drive from our Airbnb was the beautiful Sweetwater Creek State Park. (Fun fact: they filmed lots of movies and tv shows here like The Hunger Games and MacGyver!) 

The ruins of an old 5 story-tall mill and factory are here. It was built by slaves with handmade bricks and used before the Civil War to make textiles. During the war it was used to make supplies for the Confederate army and was burned down by the Union army when they arrived.
