G&G, Red Rocks, Manitou Springs, and the Penny Arcade

We were so excited when Grandma and Grandpa (Dave’s parents) came to visit us for a week. They thought we had been taking it too easy so we did just about everything there is to do in that one week.
Back to the red rocks.

Manitou Springs is known for its healing carbonated springs. People used to travel there to be healed by the naturally carbonated spring water. You can get a map of all the spots in town where the springs are located and do a walking and drinking tour, which is what we did. It was unique and lots of fun.
This first spring tasted alright. It was the least carbonated of them all.

This is what Townes and Wren think of this spring’s water - yuck!

Juniper’s face says it all. Most of the springs were sour and way too bubbly.

This is spring #6. By this time the kids knew what to expect and were bracing themselves.
June’s eyes crack me up.

This is the last spring, and by far the worst! Right about this time we got caught in a rainstorm.

Afterwards Grandpa insisted everyone waste his money on arcade games.
They call it a penny arcade but it was not.

It was lots of fun anyway.
