I wanted our month in Colorado to be a little slower than the previous 8 months. It’s hard for me to not go see awesome stuff when the weather is beautiful and I’m in a new place I may not visit again, but we were getting tired of running all the time and the kids just wanted to play. We got a lot of afternoon thunderstorms which kept us from our outdoor plans many days we were there, and there weren’t many affordable indoor options, so that helped us to slow down. And the yard at this Airbnb was spectacular, which provided lots of fun between afternoon downpours.
One day we went to a small science museum in Colorado Springs.

Card crazies
And we can’t forget our Mountain Hippo! We drove by this yard every time we went to and from our house. One day Birdie (who frequently reports that she sees very strange things no one else sees while riding in the car, but then it turns out she really did see the thing) stated that she saw a small hippo (or something chubby but not very hairy and grey) in the neighbor’s yard. We joked about it every time we drove by until a few days later when we all saw it. And indeed, it appeared to be a small hippo! It became our favorite thing to look for every day.
