The Magic House Children’s Museum

The Magic House was incredibly fun and completely unexpected. There was so much to do, and even though we went on a rainy Saturday with a ton of other families, it didn’t feel crowded at all.

Laumeier Sculpture Park

When we arrived at the Laumeier Sculpture Park we had no idea it was so extensive and so cool. We had the best morning walking around and taking photos in the beautiful weather.

This was a special (free) exhibit. Pretty awesome.

St Louis Zoo

The St Louis Zoo is free and pretty awesome. We went twice - first, on a super hot day and a couple of weeks later on a super cold day. We enjoyed it both times.

This seal was doing tricks for us.

This grizzly bear was huge!

Margot liked the penguins.

This monkey exhibit was fantastic.

St. Louis Arch

Our first full day in St. Louis we had to see the arch up close. The kids realllly wanted to ride to the top but we chose to save our money for the City Museum instead (a couple of weeks later). The museum under the arch was fantastic. They covered the history and development of the frontier from many perspectives and we thought it was interesting and well done.

I don’t want to forget that we happened to go to the arch on Easter Sunday, after we had attended two different churches - our own congregation in St Louis, and the church across the street from our Airbnb. We figured the more we could worship Jesus the better, but also my kids had never been to a different church and I thought it would be fun. It was! Mabel in particular enjoyed the live band. (Turns out I didn’t take a single photo of our Easter celebration - wish I would have.)

This is supposed to be what it looks like from the top.

Oregon!

A few hours after seeing Crater Lake we finally made it to our Airbnb outside of Portland. The kids loved it from the first moment we walked...
